The Institute of Directors have invited QYP Members to attend the attached function - with guest speaker Mr Kevin Bowler, CEO Tourism New Zealand speaking on 'New Zealand Tourism in Force'.

Numbers are strictly limited - the first 5 QYP Members to register for the event are able to attend for 50% of the usual non-member registration Fee ($20).

The event is on 23 June 2011, 5.00 pm at Sky City Casino, Queenstown.

Join QYP for an educational evening at Queenstown Resort College (QRC) - an inspirational evening with local Mark Taylor (QRC Deputy Chairman) and his QRC team as they talk about the importance of the role of professional development and education in the path to professional success.

Sam Hazledine (Director of Medrecuit) and Richard McLeod (Director of Cookbrother Bars) will provide QYP members with an informative and no doubt entertaining talk about their respective businesses with a focus on top "do's" and "don'ts" for achieving business success.

Update: Unfortunately Trent Yeo (Director of Ziptrek Ecotours Queenstown) is unavailable, however we hope to have him back sometime soon! Watch this space...

Richard McLeod (27) is a founder and Director of Cook Brothers Bars.
The company was infamously started in 2004, when at just 21 Richard and three Queenstown friends purchased one of the country's largest pubs, The Captain Cook Tavern in Dunedin.

They have since gone on to Launch Cook Brothers Construction, which has been on the Deloitte Fast 50 for the last two years running, start the Velvet Burger chain of gourmet burger bars, and added bars in Queenstown and Auckland.

Cook Brothers Bars now employs around 200 people, and expects to sell over 250,000 litres of beer in the next twelve months!

Martin Hawes - Martin is an independent business and financial consultant, advising clients and speaking at seminars throughout Australasia on all aspects of business and finance. He has a reputation for bringing the often seemingly complex aspects of finance, investment, taxation and trusts to a simple and understandable reality. Hawes currently writes as a columnist for the New Zealand Herald, in addition to a number of other publications. He is also a best selling author, having written over 15 books on topics such as investment, mortgages and tax. Martin Hawes lives in Queenstown. In his spare time he rock climbs, skis and climbs mountains.
